Some pictures

I didn’t expect to take so long to get back to posting, but at least I have some pictures.

I added my version of Carbaret Swing to my Ravelry name. Here are the pictures I added:

The yarn is Takhi Stacy Charles Ritratto, but the color was discontinued, so the owner of Hill Country Weavers and I chose the yarns (used together) that went into the final version:

Additionally, I added my second shawl as a project. I am still working on the directions, but I do have pictures.

All for now.

Shawl #2 is off the needles!

Before I even finished my first shawl design, I began designing my second shawl, as designing shawls is so much fun. When my first shawl, Cabaret Swing, in Musings from Mercury Hall, was taken up by Hill Country Weavers, I knew I wanted a second one to offer through my website and Ravelry.

That second one, name pending, is now off the needles and it is as fantastic as I thought it would be. It is very hard to design something that starts with 10 stitches and grows to 573 stitches over 106 rows and not be impatient to see if what I imagined it to be is what it was becoming. It still has to be blocked before I release pictures, but it is as beautiful as ever I had hoped. I am totally thrilled!

It will take some days to write up the instructions and get it on Ravelry, but now that I have proof that it works, I will focus on getting the pattern done. Tomorrow I show my shawl to other knitters (I showed my husband and he agrees it is lovely, but others knitters will know what went into it) and finalize a name.

I am so pumped! I did this! It was conceived and executed by me and it is great! Pictures tomorrow, if possible.

Apparently I have much to learn.

I noticed, after I posted my first post, that I had edited it rather than entering a new one, so the date is wrong. And probably will remain so.

[my hubby showed me how to edit the date – hooray! Now my first post is correctly dated]

On a brighter note, Hill Country Weavers‘ latest set of patterns, Musings from Mercury Hall, is a great success. I do hope people enjoy my shawl, one of 10 designers’ patterns included.

Limitations prevented including an edge treatment I would have preferred to show. If anyone who has purchased the patterns would like this option, I will consider offering it.

Meanwhile, I am busy finishing up my next shawl which has more lace and more beads. Hopefully I will have some pictures in a few days.

Thanks for reading.

It’s really happening!!!!!
